Separation between companies
Every record belongs to one organization, and that separation is enforced by the database itself rather than by application code that could have a bug in it. A user's account can only ever return their own company's rows. This is the single most important thing in a system that holds multiple contractors' incident data, and it's why we do it at the lowest level rather than the convenient one.
Who can see what
Six roles, from view-only through field worker, supervisor, safety manager, admin, and owner. Investigations and settings are restricted to the people who should have them. Incidents involving medical detail can be flagged as privacy cases, which masks the employee's name where it would otherwise be displayed. Changes to records are logged.
